    The purpose of writing of this book chapter is to create the awareness among the library professionals during period of covid-19 instant what all the changes happened in academic library environment, issues and challenges faced by library professionals. How the professionals are tackled the situation to came out from the issues and challenges to provide the library services for users community. How the library professionals shown the importance of library to academic institution and they make users to realize the importance of library in academic activities. The various new kinds of services and techniques brought in use by various library professionals examples are presented for future use for other professionals in India and across the world. In this article, some of the initiatives taken are observed for providing free information to general public usage by government and other non government organizations.

    Mapping the bird flu research output: A bibliometric study

    Bibliometrics is a method of study to analyze and measure the quantitative output of all branches of sciences and social sciences, which directly related with library and information science. Bird Flu is a severe, often fatal, type of influenza that affects birds, especially poultry, and that can also be transmitted to humans which indexed by Web of Science online database, indicates that the publication output in the global perspective. This study analyses the 669 records published by scientists on Bird Flu during 2000-2015(16 years). The highest numbers of papers were published during the year 2006 with 158 records with (23.6%) with top rank and followed the year 2005 with 101(15.1%) of publications ranked at second. Overall 1412 authors were contributed 334 publications in the journal and cited reference with 9710 records of the articles. The word wise distribution is 1783 records of in the bird flu research with the LCS 204; GCS 6589.

    Alert services benefits growing rapidly in the research arena across the various faculties, numerous types of alert services gaining momentum in the field of library science. This study proposes to understand different kinds of alert services available like citation alert, web alert, search alerts, publication alerts etc. this study also makes modest attempt in providing brief awareness to researchers and other stakeholders. Finally this work analyses pros and cons of these alert services in the last leg of this paper.

    Role of storytelling in learning in the context of knowledge management system

    Humans are telling stories since ancient, and there is a resurgence of interest in the art among today’s organizational leaders. What is new is the purposeful use of narrative to achieve a practical outcome. This paper focuses on some leading concept like learning style, learning methods, learning tools in knowledge management system. Storytelling will become a key ingredient in managing communications, education, training, innovation and sharing knowledge in the digital learning environment. Storytelling is the act of telling a story in an entertaining, impressive or dramatic way. “Audience want an unexpected gift at an unexpected time”. Adding feeling or emotion is probably most important. How do we do it? Generally we remember the feeling of the event or imagine what our characters might be feeling and then adjust our 'delivery' accordingly. This articles focused on features of storytelling and how the software facilitate to telling the story.

    This paper deals with importance of e-journals and e-books for higher education professional development. E-resources are to explore accumulate useful knowledge over and above faster copying, searching and to distributing for higher education. E-journals and e-books e-publishing has revolutionized the format of recorded knowledge. Libraries play a very important role in this fast changing e-environment of publishing. Their role includes identification of selection of information, its organization of management, storage retrieval and dissemination to right users at the right time at right place at right price and in right format. The goal of any academic libraries is to meet the teaching, research and other information needs of the user. The proliferation of the literature on all the subjects, price of journals hike in currency conversion rate and the budget crunch made the libraries depend upon each other. This leads to library co-operation, resource sharing and networks etc. At present the online databases, E-journals facilitate formation of the consortia at resource sharing among the libraries.
