dc.description.abstract | This analysis determines the efficiency of Indian Railways' freight divisions in operation based on the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach, a non-parametric method that allows relative efficiency assessment of decision-making units. As the Indian Railways is among the biggest freight carriers in the world, analysis of its divisions' efficiency is important in order to boost productivity, optimize the use of resources, and inform the investment of infrastructure. | |
