| dc.description.abstract | This project investigates the evolving landscape of last-mile delivery (LMD) in India’s e-commerce sector, with a focus on identifying strategic, operational, and technological solutions to enhance delivery efficiency, customer satisfaction, and sustainability. Recognizing the last mile as the most complex and cost-intensive segment of the logistics chain, the study explores how rising consumer expectations, technological innovation, and regulatory developments are reshaping the delivery experience. The research is grounded in a review of industry practices, scholarly literature, and real-world case studies from companies such as Amazon, Flipkart, Delhivery, and BigBasket. Key dimensions such as urban congestion, rural infrastructure gaps, high delivery costs, and scalability challenges are examined through both theoretical and field-based lenses. | |
