dc.description.abstractData volumes are growing and the pace of that growth is accelerating. Sensor data, log files, social media and other sources have emerged, bringing a volume, velocity, and variety of data that far outstrips traditional data warehousing approaches. Many organizations are still in the early stages of considering their potential use cases for big data. Port Operations is one where Big Data Analytics (BDA) framework can be proficiently used as this sector is having great potential to adopt BDA practices and this will allow establishing better performance metrics to measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to explore the extent to which a business can be optimized. This might give the traditional ERP, CRM systems a run for their money.
